  • Fan Powered Transmission/Oil Cooler Kit for 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 5.3 Liter
  • We do indeed offer fan-powered coolers that can be used for either engine oil or transmission fluid. In really rough slow-speed off-road conditions a passive cooler like Derale # D13503 may not get enough air flow through it for it to do its job. In such cases a fan-powered cooler is definitely the way to go. Coolers are not fluid-specific, meaning that any given cooler can be used for engine oil or transmission fluid. The are not vehicle-specific either. We offer both single-path and...

  • Determining Transmission Return Line for Transmission Cooler Install
  • The best way to determine which line on a transmission cooler is the return line from the radiator is to use the following procedure: 1. Start engine while engine is cold 2. Place transmission shift lever in drive for no more than 10 seconds 3. Place in Park, stop engine, and remove keys 4. Identify the oil return line by feeling both oil lines. The coolest line is the oil return line. On the aftermarket transmission cooler the ports are not input specific or output specific. It is not...

  • 2001 Nissan Xterra Transmission Cooler
  • Unless you live someplace where the winters are super harsh, you really can't cool a transmission too much. We typically recommend getting the largest cooler space allows. The most efficient place to install a cooler is directly behind the grille, in front of the radiator. If you have an available area of 11 x 8-3/4 inches, the # D13503 from Derale you'd looked at would be my recommendation. If you click the provided link, you can check out an install video on a later-model Xterra.

  • Is 130 - 160 Degrees too Cool for Transmission Fluid Temperatures
  • The cooler you can keep transmission fluid the better basically. 130-160 degrees is actually really awesome as this means your transmission is going to last a very long time. Honestly 180 isn't bad either but 130-160 is better if anything. I am slightly confused by the second portion of your question though as you said the gauge is not working but previously had stated that the gauge was reading temperatures.

  • Recommended Engine Oil Heater for 2015 Toyota Venza
  • Toyota discontinued the Venza in 2015 so your car would have to be a 2015, not a 2016. Kat's does not show a confirmed fit for a block style engine heater for the 3.5L, but you can use their dipstick style heater # KH15200 which is the easiest possible option for any vehicle with an oil dipstick tube of 1/4-inch diameter or larger. This works in any such engine that allows for at least 5-inches of the heating element to be immersed in the oil. The best part of using this type of heater...

  • Oil Filter Relocation Kit w/ 22 x 1.5 Threaded Filter Landing and Remote Mount to Retain Filter Size
  • I checked through all the remote engine oil filter kits we offer, and although # D15725 has a 22 x 1.5 filter landing, it uses a 3/4-16 threaded filter, as do all the remote kits we offer. I've also looked to see if instead of a kit, just a 22 x 1.5 remote mount was available, but unfortunately we do not offer one of those either. So, if you'd be willing to swap to a 3/4-16 filter, you'd be set.
